Every question is answered Yes, No or N/A. Each No is flagged and asks for a photo and a comment, so the finding arrives with its evidence.
Condition
- 1The thermometer is clean and undamaged
- 2It is clearly identified and in the right location
- 3The display or scale is readable
Check against reference
- 4It was checked in ice water (0 degrees C) or against a reference thermometer
- 5The difference from the reference is within the allowed tolerance
- 6The check was done at a second point where the procedure requires it
Records
- 7The result is recorded with date and initials
- 8A thermometer outside tolerance was tagged and removed from use
- 9Product checked with an out-of-tolerance thermometer was reviewed
When to use it
- Once a week.
- The person responsible for the area or equipment answers each question on the spot.
- Each record starts with: Thermometer or probe ID.
How it is scored
The template is built with points per answer and a pass mark of 90. In this library every audit is set to pass at 80 and every inspection at 90. Each submitted inspection shows its score and pass or fail, and every No is flagged with its photo and comment.
