The 10 questions in the inspection

Every question is answered Yes, No or N/A. Each No is flagged and asks for a photo and a comment, so the finding arrives with its evidence.

Condition

  1. 1The gauge face is clean and readable
  2. 2The glass is not cracked and the case is not damaged
  3. 3The needle rests at zero when not under pressure

Function

  1. 4The reading is in the normal operating range
  2. 5The normal range is marked on the gauge
  3. 6The reading agrees with other gauges on the system
  4. 7The needle moves smoothly with no sticking

Records

  1. 8The calibration label is present and in date
  2. 9Faulty gauges are tagged and replaced
  3. 10The check is recorded

When to use it

  • Once a month.
  • The person responsible for the area or equipment answers each question on the spot.
  • Each record starts with: Gauge ID or system.

How it is scored

The template is built with points per answer and a pass mark of 90. In this library every audit is set to pass at 80 and every inspection at 90. Each submitted inspection shows its score and pass or fail, and every No is flagged with its photo and comment.
