Weekend shutdown energy checklist poster

A plant can use a surprising share of its energy when nothing is being made: compressors feeding leaks, hydraulics idling, extraction fans, lights and heating in empty bays. A shutdown checklist for weekends and holidays, with an owner for each area and a meter reading before and after, turns that into savings. This poster lists what to switch off or set back, warns what must stay on, and asks the team to compare the meter.

The words on the poster

Before the weekend shutdown

Off or set back, area by area. What ran while nobody was here?

Off or set back

  • Machines and hydraulic units
  • Conveyors and extraction fans
  • Compressed air to idle zones
  • Lights in empty areas
  • Heating and cooling set back
  • Dock and building doors shut
  • Ovens and heaters, as allowed
  • Screens, printers, kitchen kit
  • Some things stay on: safety systems, fire pumps, freezers, processes that cannot stop. Check the area list.
  • Read the meter Friday and Monday. The difference is what ran for nobody.
  • Shutdown list owner: ____
  • Weekend use (meter): ____

Which size to print

  • 24 x 36 in or A2: a main wall or team board, read from a few metres away.
  • 18 x 24 in or A3: a station or notice board. The A3 file also fits 11 x 17 in paper.
  • Letter or A4: a clipboard, binder or handout, on any office printer.

Every PDF is vector, so it stays sharp at full size. Nothing runs to the edge of the page, so no bleed is needed.

A poster reminds. A routine makes it stick.
