Containment actions poster

Containment protects the customer while the cause of a quality problem is found. It fails when suspect parts are missed: the ones already in finished goods, in the warehouse, on a truck or at the customer. This poster lists every place suspect parts can be and the five containment steps: define the suspect range, hold, sort with a proven check, mark the good parts and record the counts, then keep it in place until the fix is proven.

How to use it

Putting the Containment actions poster to work

  1. 1

Post it in the quality office and at the hold area.

  2. 2

Work down the list of places on every quality alert, and write a count against each one.

  4. 4

Pair it with the free quality alert form and 8D report.

Which size to print

  • 24 x 36 in or A2: a main wall or team board, read from a few metres away.
  • 18 x 24 in or A3: a station or notice board. The A3 file also fits 11 x 17 in paper.
  • Letter or A4: a clipboard, binder or handout, on any office printer.

Every PDF is vector, so it stays sharp at full size. Nothing runs to the edge of the page, so no bleed is needed.
