Buyer's guide
Best Lean Six Sigma software
Short answer: Lean Six Sigma software comes in two kinds, and most programs need one of each. Program software runs the projects: DMAIC phases, reviews, owners and savings across the portfolio. Look at LeanSuite, KaiNexus, KPI Fire, Minitab Engage or TRACtion. Statistical software does the analysis inside Measure and Analyze: capability studies, hypothesis tests, control charts and designed experiments. Look at Minitab Statistical Software or JMP, EngineRoom in a browser, or SigmaXL and QI Macros inside Excel. LeanSuite runs DMAIC next to A3, PDCA and your own methods, for any type of project, but it is not a statistics package.
Who wrote this: LeanSuite publishes this guide, and LeanSuite is one of the ten products on it. It is listed first because it is our product; the others follow in alphabetical order, which is not a ranking. Every other product is described only from its own public pages, and each entry says where that product fits better than ours.

How we chose these tools
Lean Six Sigma software supports one of two jobs: running DMAIC projects and the program around them, or doing the statistics the projects need. Each product on this list meets all of these:
Built for Lean Six Sigma
The vendor sells the product for Lean Six Sigma, Six Sigma, DMAIC or quality improvement work, in its own words.
Clear about its job
We say whether it runs projects and the portfolio or does statistical analysis. Most programs need one of each.
Program tools track results
Projects follow DMAIC or other roadmaps with owners, and savings or KPIs are tracked across the portfolio.
Statistics tools cover the core analyses
Capability, hypothesis tests, control charts and designed experiments, or most of them.
Still sold in 2026

Ten Lean Six Sigma tools: LeanSuite first, then alphabetical
1. LeanSuite
Lean manufacturing software that runs the project side of a Lean Six Sigma program. DMAIC is a ready-made method in Kaizen & Projects, next to A3, PDCA, PDSA and just-do-it, and you can define your own, such as 8D or a company method, with its own phases. Each project type gets its own workflow, where you set who can move a project to the next phase, what must be filled in first and who is alerted, and a stage-gate can require review above a savings amount you set. Savings are recorded as hard or soft savings, cost avoidance or capital spend, with the credit split between lead, sponsor, coach and team, and a DMAIC project can't close until Finance verifies them; verified savings roll up against plant and company targets. A project can track several KPIs, and reports show slipped projects and which problem-solving tools each person has used. Engineering and CapEx projects run through four stage-gates in the same hub, and projects outside manufacturing get their own types. LeanSuite is not a statistics package: none of its pages describe capability studies, hypothesis tests or designed experiments, so belts keep a statistics tool for that and link the files from a shared drive. One flat price per facility with unlimited users; a 90-day pilot costs $3,000 per facility.
Best for: Plants that want DMAIC and every other kind of improvement project in one system, with savings Finance has signed off, used alongside a statistics tool.
2. EngineRoom
Web-based data analysis software from MoreSteam in Powell, Ohio, built for quality improvement, Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement teams. It runs in a browser on a PC or Mac and covers hypothesis testing, statistical process control, capability analysis, design of experiments and regression, plus value stream maps, fishbone diagrams and Process Playground for simulating process changes. It comes in 10 languages, and results can be linked to projects in MoreSteam's TRACtion. An individual license is published at $495 a year, with group discounts from 10 users and a free trial. MoreSteam says it is SOC 2 compliant and hosts on Microsoft Azure.
Best for: Belts who want the core Six Sigma statistics in a browser at a low published price, with nothing to install.
3. JMP
Statistical software for data exploration from JMP, a subsidiary of SAS, for Windows and Mac, with JMP 19 the current release. For quality work it offers control charts (XBar-R and XBar-S, I-MR, attribute, EWMA and CUSUM, rare event and short run), process capability for normal and non-normal data, gauge R&R, and a path from SPC straight into designed experiments. The JMP store publishes $1,390 per user a year, and $8,820 for JMP Pro, which adds predictive modeling and machine learning.
Best for: Engineers and scientists who explore data interactively and run a lot of designed experiments.
4. KaiNexus
Continuous improvement software founded in 2009, with a page for Lean Six Sigma programs. It gives belts, champions and leadership one system to manage every project from Define through Control, with workflows and reporting built in, next to ideas, A3 and PDSA projects, daily management and strategy deployment. KaiNexus Intelligence summarizes records and coaches root cause analysis. Its Six Sigma page does not describe statistical analysis. It is SOC 2 Type 2 compliant and supports SAML 2.0 single sign-on, with iOS and Android apps. Pricing is quoted, with a Fundamentals package for smaller teams.
Best for: Lean Six Sigma programs that span many kinds of teams, with strategy deployment in the same system.
5. KPI Fire
Business improvement software from Complete XRM in Salt Lake City, with a Lean Six Sigma page offering integrated DMAIC tools and workflows. An Idea Funnel ranks ideas by effort and impact; projects run as DMAIC, PDCA, kaizen events or quick wins; savings targets, projections and actual savings are reconciled; and X-Matrix and Hoshin Kanri planning tie projects to goals. There is a mobile app. It runs on AWS with third-party SOC 2 audits and offers single sign-on. Pricing is quoted.
Best for: OpEx offices that manage a portfolio of DMAIC projects tied to strategy, with savings reconciled against targets.
6. Minitab Engage
Project and idea management software from Minitab for Lean Six Sigma and other improvement programs. Projects start from DMAIC, DFSS, PDCA or kaizen event roadmaps, or your own; fishbone diagrams, Five Whys, SIPOC, FMEA, project charters and A3 forms sit inside each project; idea forms calculate weighted benefit, effort and risk; and dashboards track financial summaries, status and savings by project leader. Output from Minitab Statistical Software can be sent straight into a project, or a Minitab file embedded in the roadmap. Pricing is through sales, not published. Minitab lists ISO 27001:2022 in its trust center.
Best for: Lean Six Sigma programs that already analyze data in Minitab and want their projects in the same family.
7. Minitab Statistical Software
Statistical software for quality and process improvement from Minitab, on Windows and Mac desktops and as a web app. It covers hypothesis tests, capability analysis (including the Capability Sixpack), design of experiments, many kinds of control charts, regression and measurement systems analysis such as gage studies, with predictive analytics in higher plans. It is sold as a named-user annual subscription in the Minitab Solution Center: the Core plan, with Minitab Statistical Software, Minitab DOE by Effex and Minitab Workspace for process maps, value stream maps and FMEA, is $2,394 a year. Minitab lists ISO 27001:2022 in its trust center.
Best for: Belts and quality engineers who want a full statistics package on the desktop or the web, and programs already using Minitab Engage.
8. QI Macros
An Excel add-in for Lean Six Sigma and SPC from KnowWare International in Denver, Colorado. It adds control charts with automatic chart selection, Pareto charts, fishbone diagrams, histograms with Cp and Cpk, gage R&R, ANOVA, t-tests and regression, and Six Sigma templates such as SIPOC and DOE, to Excel on Windows or Mac. A single-user license is $379, perpetual, with no annual fees and free technical support.
Best for: Teams that live in Excel and want control charts and the common Six Sigma charts for a one-time price.
9. SigmaXL
An Excel add-in for statistical analysis, Six Sigma, SPC, design of experiments, gage R&R, process capability, regression and control charts, sold since 1998, with templates and calculators alongside. Version 11.04 was released on September 17, 2026. It runs on Windows 10 or later with Excel 2016 or later or Microsoft 365; no Mac version is listed. A single-user license is $399, perpetual, with the first year of support and upgrades included and renewal at 20% of list; there is no subscription.
Best for: Windows and Excel users who want a wide set of Six Sigma statistics without leaving the spreadsheet.
10. TRACtion
Lean Six Sigma project tracking and management software from MoreSteam in Powell, Ohio. It comes with over a dozen preloaded project roadmaps and lets you build your own, you set your own rules for reviews and approvals, and dashboards show portfolio savings and KPIs. AI Assist helps refine project charters, and analysis from MoreSteam's EngineRoom links straight into a project. Pricing is published: a one-time $10,000 setup fee and annual costs from $10,000 for at least 10 power users (team leaders, champions and sponsors, financial auditors), with team members free. MoreSteam says it is SOC 2 compliant and hosts on Microsoft Azure.
Best for: Corporate Lean Six Sigma programs with many belts and projects that want a tracker built for that job, linked to EngineRoom.

Where LeanSuite is different
This part is about our own product, so read it as LeanSuite's pitch; the entries above describe every other tool from its own pages. Each point links to the LeanSuite page that shows it.
Any method, including your own
Run DMAIC, PDCA, A3, 8D or your company's own method in the same system. The built-in A3, DMAIC and PDCA templates can be adjusted to fit your process, and each project type gets its own workflow.
Continuous improvement softwareSavings that Finance has signed off
A DMAIC project can't close until Finance verifies its savings. Savings are calculated from your own labor, downtime and scrap rates, and a stage-gate can require review above a savings amount you set.
CI portfolio and ROIAny type of project, not only kaizen
One visual hub runs a small kaizen event, a full DMAIC project, an engineering or capital-expenditure project, or a project outside manufacturing, each through the workflow built for its type.
One hub for every projectEngineering and CapEx projects through stage-gates
Engineering and CapEx projects run through the same four stage-gates (Ideation, Feasibility, Execution and Closure), with a checklist for each stage and an auditable trail for every deliverable and approval.
Stage-gates for engineering and CapExIt suggests the method for the loss
When you create a project, LeanSuite suggests a method for the type of loss you are tackling, from a simple PDCA cycle to a formal A3 or a full DMAIC project.
