Buyer's guide

Best 5S audit software

Short answer: Every 5S audit app runs a scored checklist on a phone; the difference is what happens after a failed line. If you want photo-required audits where a failed line becomes a corrective action that can't close without a photo of the fix, with scores by department and the audits scheduled to a person, role or machine, look at LeanSuite. For a low published price per user, look at GoAudits, and for a free start inside a large template library, Mitti. Lumiform suits EU-hosted programs by zone and shift, EASE suits plants that already run layered process audits (priced per plant with unlimited users), Tervene puts 5S inside leader standard work, and Rever feeds 5S findings into kaizen and ideas.

Who wrote this: LeanSuite publishes this guide, and LeanSuite is one of the seven products on it. It is listed first because it is our product; the others follow in alphabetical order, which is not a ranking. Every other product is described only from its own public pages, and each entry says where that product fits better than ours.

How we chose these tools

5S audit software runs scored checks of a work area against its sort, set in order, shine, standardize and sustain standard, on a phone or tablet, and follows up what fails. Each product on this list meets all of these:

  • 5S is named

The vendor's own site names 5S audits as something the product does, on a product page or in its template library. Where the 5S detail is only in an article on its site, the entry says so.

  • Audits on a phone or tablet

Auditors complete the check where the work is done, with scores and photos, not on paper typed in later.

  • Follow-up on failures

A failed item can become an action with an owner, not only a low score.

  • Still sold in 2026

A live product page with a way to buy, trial or book a demo. Where we found no dated 2026 release, our sources log says so.

  • Public information

Enough on the vendor's own pages to describe its 5S audits, scheduling and actions. Where pricing or security is not published, the table says so.

Seven 5S audit apps: LeanSuite first, then alphabetical

  1. 1. LeanSuite

Lean manufacturing software that runs 5S audits as a closed loop across three modules. Auditors complete 5S audits on a tablet at the workstation, scored by category (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain) with points per answer and a pass mark, and the checklist can't be completed without its before-and-after photos; timestamps and GPS are logged. Lean AI converts your paper 5S sheet into a digital form, or you start from a marketplace template, and Daily Standard Work schedules each audit to a person, a role or an asset, with missed audits shown in red. Every failed line becomes a corrective action with an owner, category, due date and the photo from the failed item, routed by category and zone; overdue actions notify the supervisor and manager, and an action can't close without a photo of the corrected condition. Scores roll up by department week over week, with an 8-week trend per category, the corrective action close rate on the same view and an automatic PDF report for the weekly tier meeting. One flat price per facility with unlimited users; a 90-day pilot costs $3,000 per facility.

Best for: Plants that want 5S to stick after the event: photo-proof audits, corrective actions that need proof to close, and scores by department next to tier meetings and kaizen.

    LeanSuite 5S audits

  2. 2. EASE

An audit management platform for manufacturers that grew up around layered process audits and also covers 5S, safety inspections, gemba walks, quality audits, corrective actions and on-the-job training. Its 5S audit type promises visual management with photos, scoring for quick review and trends in common points of failure, with photos or video linked to each answer and nonconformance. Audits are scheduled by layer, site, area, line or station, with reminders to auditors and their managers, and failed questions get on-the-spot actions, with corrective action plans. The app runs fully offline on iOS, Android and Windows, and a Q3 2026 update extended AI translation to findings and action plans. It says it is fully compliant with SOC II, GDPR and ITAR, with SAML SSO. It prices by plant size with unlimited audits and users, and quotes on request.

Best for: Multi-plant manufacturers running layered process audits that want 5S on the same scheduler, with unlimited users per site.

    EASE website

  3. 3. GoAudits

An audit and inspection platform, started in 2016, with a mobile app and web portal used in hospitality, retail, food, healthcare and manufacturing. Its manufacturing page lists 5S and 6S audits, and a July 2026 guide on its site includes a 5S audit template. Audits have smart scoring, photo annotation, signatures and timestamps, are scheduled by user or site with reminders, and work offline on iOS and Android. Corrective actions are assigned to team members during the inspection with priorities and due dates, external users need no licence, and dashboards show scores across locations, teams or topics. Its pricing page says it is ISO 27001 certified, with SSO priced separately. It publishes pricing: Starter $10 per user a month and Enterprise $30, billed annually, with a 14-day trial.

Best for: Smaller teams that want a low published per-user price with offline 5S checklists and simple corrective actions.

    GoAudits website

  4. 4. Lumiform

A mobile inspection and audit app from Berlin, founded in 2019, with more than 12,000 templates. Its 5S page describes 5S and 6S checklists per zone with percentage scoring per section, photos of nonconformances with timestamps and signatures, weekly audits assigned to auditors across shifts, overdue audits surfaced automatically, a corrective action created for each failed item with an owner and due date, a 5S red tags template, and each zone's weekly score filterable by zone, shift or site. It works fully offline, and its AI drafts forms, translates into more than 60 languages and checks photos against your standard. Its home page says SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certified; its trust page says the certified part is its AWS hosting in Frankfurt. SSO is an add-on on Professional. Pricing is by quote.

Best for: EU-hosted 5S programs run by zone and shift, with ready 5S and red tag templates and AI translation.

    Lumiform website

  5. 5. Mitti

A frontline operations platform for inspections, actions, issues, assets and training, renamed from SafetyCulture in August 2026. Its inspections product lists 5S and housekeeping among manufacturing checks, and its template library has many community 5S templates, which it notes it has not verified; a drag-and-drop builder and an AI assistant turn a photo or PDF into a checklist. Checks take photos and video with annotations, can be scheduled with automated follow-ups, and a failed item creates and assigns a corrective action automatically. A live dashboard tracks scores, open actions and recurring issues across sites, and checks work offline on iOS and Android. It is ISO 27001:2022 certified with a SOC 2 Type II report. It publishes pricing: free for up to 10 users, and Premium at $24 a seat a month billed annually, with SSO.

Best for: Multi-site teams that want to start free and run 5S next to many other checks from one large template library.

    Mitti website

  6. 6. Rever

A frontline improvement platform for manufacturing from Menlo Park, California, covering routines, issues and actions, ideas and kaizen, problem solving and AI insights, with a savings figure reviewed and validated for each improvement. Its 5S use case sets up a routine of type 5S audit with a section for each S in the checklist editor, assigns auditors and a frequency, and records each finding with an owner, priority, due date, 5S situation type and department. Quick Actions take up to five photos before and after the fix, a routine report breaks findings down by priority, status and department, and routines and findings work offline on iOS and Android. It is ISO 27001:2022 certified. Pricing is not published, and we found no dated 2026 release.

Best for: Plants that want 5S findings to feed kaizen, idea sharing and validated savings, not only audit scores.

    Rever website

  7. 7. Tervene

Connected leader and daily management software, founded in 2015, covering leader standard work, gemba walks, audits and inspections, tiered meetings, issues, action plans and continuous improvement. Its 5S audit page offers custom 5S checklists and templates for 5S checklists, 5S audits, 6S inspections, tool storage and workstations, with mandatory fields, scoring and pass or fail results, photos of workstations and equipment, daily, weekly, monthly or custom schedules with reminders, corrective and preventive actions linked to 5S forms, and a full history with success scores and custom dashboards. It runs on iOS, Android, Windows and the web. It says it maintains an ISO 27001 compliance certification and a SOC 2 Type 2 report. Pricing is a custom quote.

Best for: Plants where 5S audits belong inside leader standard work and tiered daily management.

Where LeanSuite is different

This part is about our own product, so read it as LeanSuite's pitch; the entries above describe every other tool from its own pages. Each point links to the LeanSuite page that shows it.

  • A 5S audit that needs its photos

Auditors work through the 5S audit on a tablet at the workstation, and the checklist can't be completed without its before-and-after photos. Timestamps and GPS are logged, and each score rolls up by department, week over week.

    5S audits
  • A failed line closes only with proof

Every failed audit line becomes a corrective action with an owner, category and due date, routed by category and zone. Overdue actions notify the supervisor and manager, and an action can't close without a photo of the corrected condition.

    Corrective actions from audits
  • Standard work that shows when it is missed

Daily Standard Work assigns a checklist to a person, a role or a machine and repeats it every shift, daily, weekly or monthly. Missed checks show in red, and a failed check can raise a tag automatically.

    Checklists and Daily Standard Work
  • Improvement next to the daily work

Issues, audits, tiered meetings, skills and training sit in the same platform. A failed audit question can become a new kaizen, and when you launch a kaizen or engineering project you see who has the skills it needs.

    How the modules connect
  • A 90-day pilot at a published price

$3,000 per facility for 90 days, with the first module live in under a week. Pricing is per facility with unlimited users.

What the 45-minute demo shows

For 5S, the demo runs one 5S audit at a workstation and follows a failed line to its fix.

Bring one process you want to fix, and how you run it today. We show the same job in LeanSuite and answer your questions.

In the demo

  1. A 5S audit on a tablet that can't be completed without its photos, scores rolled up by department, and a failed line closed only with proof.
  2. An audit built in Lean Creator or drafted by Lean AI from a PDF, scheduled in Daily Standard Work, and a failed answer turned into an action with an owner.
  3. A Tier 1 huddle on a Lean Studio board, an item escalated to Tier 2 with its photos and history, and the answer sent back down.

Want to run LeanSuite on your own lines instead? The 90-day pilot is $3,000 per facility, set up by our team, with the first module live in under a week.

FAQ

Best 5S Audit Software: common questions

  1. Software that runs regular, scored checks of a work area against its 5S standard on a phone or tablet. Auditors score each S, take photos, and every failed item becomes an action with an owner, so the area does not slide back after the 5S event. Scores roll up so leaders can see which areas are slipping.

  2. It depends on what you need after the audit. For corrective actions that need a photo to close and scores by department next to tier meetings and kaizen, look at LeanSuite. For a low price per user, GoAudits. To start free, Mitti. For EU hosting by zone and shift, Lumiform. Inside layered process audits, EASE; inside leader standard work, Tervene; feeding kaizen, Rever. LeanSuite is our product.

  3. Most plants audit each area weekly, by the area team, and monthly by someone from outside it, plus a baseline right after a 5S event. Whatever the frequency, the audit only works if failed items get an owner and a date. In LeanSuite you set the frequency as a repeat rule in Daily Standard Work, and missed audits show in red.

  4. GoAudits ($10 or $30 per user a month, billed annually) and Mitti (free for 10 users, Premium $24 a seat a month) publish prices. EASE, Lumiform, Rever and Tervene do not; EASE quotes by plant size with unlimited users. LeanSuite quotes per facility with unlimited users and publishes its pilot price: 90 days for $3,000 per facility.

  5. Yes, as a starting point. LeanSuite's Lean AI converts a paper 5S audit sheet into a digital form, and Mitti and Lumiform also turn a photo, PDF or file into a checklist. If you are not ready for software, LeanSuite publishes a free 5S audit checklist with 25 scored checks.

  6. Because it is our page and we would rather say so than hide it in the middle. Read it with that in mind. The other products follow in alphabetical order, each is described only from its own public pages, each entry says who it fits best, and we will correct anything a vendor or reader shows us is wrong.

  7. We read each vendor's own public pages in October 2026 and used only what they publish. Where we could not find something, the table says not published, which does not mean the product lacks it. LeanSuite is our product. If something has changed, email info@theleansuite.com and we will update the page.
