LeanSuite - Lean Manufacturing Software

Buyer's guide

Best layered process audit (LPA) software

Short answer: For a dedicated LPA tool with question rotation, look at EASE (from $720 per site a month, unlimited users) or Omnex EQMS.AI, which builds LPAs on CQI-8 and IATF 16949 inside a full automotive quality suite. For LPAs inside a general inspection app at a published per-user price, look at GoAudits, Mitti (formerly SafetyCulture) or Lumiform. Tervene runs LPAs as part of leader standard work, gemba walks and tiered meetings. LeanSuite schedules the same LPA checklist for every layer in Daily Standard Work, shows missed audits in red, and turns a failed answer into an issue tag, corrective action plan or Kaizen project in the same system as the plant's daily issues, KPIs and improvement work. LeanSuite's pages do not describe question rotation.

Who wrote this: LeanSuite publishes this guide, and LeanSuite is one of the seven products on it. It is listed first because it is our product; the others follow in alphabetical order, which is not a ranking. Every other product is described only from its own public pages, and each entry says where that product fits better than ours.

How we chose these tools

A layered process audit (LPA) is a short, frequent check that key process steps are being followed, done by several layers of the organization (team leads, supervisors, managers, plant leadership), each on its own schedule. LPA software schedules those checks by layer, records the answers on a phone or tablet, and turns each failed check into a fix. Each product on this list meets all of these:

  • LPA is named

The vendor's own product pages name layered process audits as something the product does. Where a detail appears only in an article on the vendor's site, the entry says so.

  • Built for manufacturing

Manufacturers are a main market for the product.

  • Still sold in 2026

A live product page with a way to buy, trial or book a demo. Where we found no dated 2026 release, our sources log says so.

  • Public information

Enough on the vendor's own pages to describe how it schedules layers and handles failed checks. Where pricing or security is not published, the table says so.

Seven LPA tools: LeanSuite first, then alphabetical

  1. 1. LeanSuite

Lean manufacturing software whose audit management module runs layered process audits next to 5S audits, gemba walks, safety walks and standard work audits. You build the LPA checklist in Lean Creator, upload your current one as a PDF, or describe it and let Lean AI draft it, with yes/no, multiple choice, number, rating, text, signature and photo answers, points per answer and a pass mark. The same checklist is scheduled for each layer in Daily Standard Work, to a person, a role or a machine, with a repeat rule; assignees get a reminder before it is due and missed audits show in red on the calendar and Kanban board. Auditors complete checks on a phone or tablet with photo evidence. A rule on a failed answer can raise an issue tag, assign a corrective action plan or launch a Kaizen project, and reports track completion, common non-conformances and every flagged answer. One template can be shared with every plant. One flat price per facility with unlimited users; a 90-day pilot costs $3,000 per facility.

Best for: Plants that want LPAs scheduled for every layer, with failed checks turning into tracked actions and kaizen projects in the same system as their other audits and daily management.

    LeanSuite audit management

  2. 2. EASE

Plant floor audit software built around layered process audits; its former Beacon Quality product has been folded into EASE. Admins schedule every layer, shift and line for the year, keep questions in a central library that can rotate and randomize them, and send findings to closed-loop corrective actions, with action plans on the higher EASE PLUS plan. Reports show the top non-conformances by location, shift, process and question, weaknesses across layers, and multi-site views. It also runs 5S, gemba, safety and maintenance audits, and EASE IQ adds camera-based AI inspection. Apps run on iOS, Android and Windows, including offline. It publishes pricing from $720 per site per month with unlimited users, billed annually, plus implementation fees. EASE says it is fully compliant with SOC II, GDPR and ITAR, with SAML single sign-on.

Best for: Plants, often automotive suppliers, that want a dedicated LPA tool with question rotation, priced per site rather than per user.

    EASE website

  3. 3. GoAudits

A mobile inspection and audit app started in 2016. Its manufacturing page lists layered process audits among its audit types and says it supports LPAs with rotating auditors; how to set up each layer is described only in an article on its site. Teams build checklists with conditional logic and automatic scoring, attach photos and signatures, schedule the same audit across sites and compare scores by site, line, shift and auditor. Failed items become corrective actions with escalation and reminders. It also covers GMP, ISO, 5S and gemba checks and offers a free AI checklist generator. Apps run on iOS, Android and the web, online or offline. It publishes pricing: Starter at $10 and Enterprise, which adds scheduling, at $30 per user per month billed annually. GoAudits says it is ISO 27001 certified, with single sign-on priced separately.

Best for: Smaller plants or multi-site teams that want a low per-user price and a quick start from existing paper checklists.

  4. 4. Lumiform

An inspection and form app from a company founded in 2019 in Berlin. Its LPA page describes building the checklist on a desktop with a section for each process layer, scheduling audits by frequency and auditor, and running them in an offline mobile app with photos, GPS and timestamps. Flagged deviations become corrective actions for the responsible person, and results filter by date, location, auditor or finding category, with export to Power BI. It also has a large template library, AI-generated forms, approvals, and integrations with Power Automate, Zapier and SharePoint, with apps for iOS and Android. Its pricing page asks you to request a quote, while its LPA page says paid plans start at $115 a month with five users. Lumiform says its hosting on AWS in Frankfurt holds ISO 27001 and SOC 2 certifications; its own security page calls formal certification a future goal.

Best for: European plants that want German data hosting and a general form tool that runs LPAs next to their other checks.

  5. 5. Mitti (by SafetyCulture)

The new name of SafetyCulture, announced in August 2026. Its manufacturing LPA page covers digital LPA checklists on daily, weekly and monthly schedules, photo annotation and calculations in inspections, corrective actions assigned from findings, and analytics; it does not describe rotation by layer or question randomization. The wider platform covers inspections, training, issue reporting and asset maintenance, and its AI turns a photo or PDF into a checklist. Apps for iOS and Android work offline. It publishes pricing: free for up to 10 users, and Premium at $24 per seat per month billed annually or $29 monthly, with single sign-on included; location-based pricing for multi-site operations and Enterprise are quoted. Mitti says it is ISO 27001:2022 certified and has a SOC 2 Type II report.

Best for: Teams that want one low-cost app for LPAs plus safety, training and maintenance checks, with a free plan to start.

  6. 6. Omnex EQMS.AI

A quality management suite from Omnex Systems in Ann Arbor, Michigan, aimed at automotive and manufacturing quality teams. Its LPA software is built on CQI-8 and IATF 16949: you define the layers, frequency, duration, number of auditors and approvers, set a checklist per layer, and the system plans the LPAs for a chosen period. Checklists and checkpoints can be randomized for each layer. Nonconformances go to 8D or corrective action reports, and reports and KPIs cover one site or several. The suite also includes audit management, APQP, FMEA, PPAP and supplier quality, and its O-BOT AI can plan audits and write up nonconformances. Mobile apps for iOS and Android work offline. Pricing is not published. Omnex says it has completed SOC 2 certification.

Best for: Automotive suppliers that need CQI-8 and IATF 16949 LPAs inside a full quality suite with APQP, PPAP and 8D.

  7. 7. Tervene

Connected leader software for frontline managers in manufacturing, founded in 2015. Its LPA module assigns auditors for each layer, from frontline employees to top executives, on daily, weekly, monthly or custom schedules with reminders. Forms support pass or fail results, numeric scoring, required fields and triggers that require an action, photo or note on certain answers. Findings become corrective and preventive actions with owners and due dates and can escalate through Tier 1, 2 and 3. Dashboards track process compliance, corrective actions and audit completion, and Power BI dashboards can be embedded. It also covers gemba walks, leader standard work and tiered meetings. Apps run on iOS, Android, Windows and the web. Pricing is a custom quote based on users and sites. Tervene says it maintains an ISO 27001 certification and offers its SOC 2 Type 2 report on request.

Best for: Plants that want LPAs tied to tiered meetings, gemba walks and leader standard work in one daily management system.

Where LeanSuite is different

This part is about our own product, so read it as LeanSuite's pitch; the entries above describe every other tool from its own pages. Each point links to the LeanSuite page that shows it.

  • One LPA checklist, scheduled for every layer

Schedule the same LPA checklist for each layer in Daily Standard Work, to a person, a role or a machine, with a repeat rule. Assignees get an email reminder before it is due, and missed audits show in red on the calendar and Kanban board.

    Layered process audits
  • A failed answer starts the fix

A rule on an answer can raise an issue tag for maintenance, assign a corrective action plan or launch a Kaizen project, or you do it in one click. One report lists every flagged answer across all audits, and every finding and action is time-stamped.

    From finding to action
  • Improvement next to the daily work

Issues, audits, tiered meetings, skills and training sit in the same platform. A failed audit question can become a new kaizen, and when you launch a kaizen or engineering project you see who has the skills it needs.

    How the modules connect
  • A 90-day pilot at a published price

$3,000 per facility for 90 days, with the first module live in under a week. Pricing is per facility with unlimited users.
