LeanSuite - Lean Manufacturing Software

Buyer's guide

Best standardized work software

Short answer: Standardized work software does one of two jobs: it works out the standard (element times, takt and the line balance) or it keeps the standard current at the station and proves each operator follows the latest version. For the first job, look at AVIX, which builds standardized work instructions from MTM or video time studies and its line balancing, so a change in a time study updates the balance and the instructions. For the second, look at Dozuki, Poka, Azumuta or LeanSuite, which draft instructions with AI and control versions and sign-off, Tulip, where engineers build versioned instruction apps with approvals, or Augmentir, which adds AR and skill-based guidance. LeanSuite drafts SOPs and work instructions from one video of your best operator, routes them for e-signature and has each operator sign the current version on a tablet; takt time and the combination table live in its free templates, not in the software.

Who wrote this: LeanSuite publishes this guide, and LeanSuite is one of the seven products on it. It is listed first because it is our product; the others follow in alphabetical order, which is not a ranking. Every other product is described only from its own public pages, and each entry says where that product fits better than ours.

How we chose these tools

Standardized work is the current best way to do a job, written down: the work sequence, the time each step takes against takt, and the standard work in process. Software helps build that standard, put it in front of the operator and keep it current when the method changes. Each product on this list meets all of these:

  • Standard work is named

The vendor's own product pages say the product handles standard work or standardized work. A general document tool that never mentions it is left out.

  • Built for manufacturing

Manufacturers are a main market for the product.

  • An established company

The vendor has a real company behind it and is at least our size; smaller vendors are left off this guide.

  • Still sold in 2026

A live product page with a way to buy, trial or book a demo.

  • Public information

Enough on the vendor's own pages to describe how it builds and controls the standard. Where pricing or security is not published, the table says so.

Seven standardized work tools: LeanSuite first, then alphabetical

  1. 1. LeanSuite

Lean manufacturing software that keeps the written standard for each job as a controlled SOP or work instruction. Film your best operator once and the AI drafts numbered steps with start and end times, the clearest frame for each step and callouts for PPE, torque tools, lockout points and inspections, in your own company template; with no video, it drafts from a paper or PDF procedure, or merges several overlapping SOPs into one. Drafts stay private until published, go to engineering, EHS and quality for e-signature, and every change is versioned, traceable to the source video and routed for re-approval. Each document has an owner and a review date with reminders, and can be linked to a part, routing, station, work order, zone, team or skill. Instructions are assigned to people, a role or a workstation; each operator opens and signs on a phone or tablet, overdue sign-offs show in red, and each printed step carries a QR code that plays its clip. Translation keeps your glossary locked. Standard maintenance procedures come from the same kind of video and are assigned to the machine with a repeat rule. Takt time, the combination table and the standard work sheet are free LeanSuite templates rather than part of the software. One flat price per facility with unlimited users; a 90-day pilot costs $3,000 per facility.

Best for: Plants that want every job's standard drafted from a video, signed off by each operator and kept current, next to their other lean work.

  2. 2. Augmentir

An AI connected worker platform founded in 2018. Its product page says its industrial AR modernizes training and standard work by putting spatial guidance on equipment and work areas, and each asset carries its CIL and standard work schedule. Work instructions are built with no-code authoring tools or by conversation in Augie Procedure Studio, adapt to each worker's skill level, and include images, video, AR and live expert support, with data captured at each step. Skills and training, issue management, reporting and AI agents are other modules, on iOS and Android phones, tablets and smart glasses. A May 2026 post on its site says it is SOC 2 Type 2 compliant, audited annually; single sign-on is an add-on. Pricing is by request form.

Best for: Plants that want standard work delivered with AR and adjusted to each worker's skill level.

  3. 3. AVIX

Production engineering software from Solme AB in Gothenburg, Sweden, established in 1998. AVIX Method runs time and motion studies with MTM-UAS, MTM-SAM, AVIX Times or a stopwatch, AVIX Resource Balance balances work between stations and operators, including man-machine work, with Yamazumi charts and variants, and its site says a change in a time study automatically updates the related line balances, work instructions and process documentation. Its standardized work instructions are shown in a web browser on any screen through the AVIX Shop Floor Viewer, with linked video sequences, and operators see the latest approved version. SMED, FMEA, ergonomics and design-for-assembly modules sit in the same suite, which runs on Windows. Pricing is not published; buying starts with a meeting and a 2 to 3 day pilot project. Security certifications are not published.

Best for: Industrial engineering teams that want the standard built from time studies and line balancing, with instructions that update when the times change.

  4. 4. Azumuta

A connected worker platform for manufacturing, founded in Ghent, Belgium, in 2016, with offices in Detroit and Paris. Its work instructions page offers standardized work instructions in one place instead of Word and Excel files: a no-code editor with images, video, 3D models, parameters, variants and if-then logic, or drafts from Word, PowerPoint, Excel, PDF, video or audio through Azumuta Intelligence. Revisions are approved by e-signature, instructions can be translated into any language, operators send feedback on a step, and the flow can adapt to each operator's skill level. A skill matrix with certificate expiry reminders, audits and quality modules are in the same platform, with iOS and Android apps. Its site says it is built to standards such as ISO/IEC 27001 and SOC 2, with annual security audits. Pricing is a custom quote.

Best for: Assembly plants that want standardized instructions with variants and logic, tied to a skill matrix.

    Azumuta website

  5. 5. Dozuki

A connected worker platform built around digital work instructions, founded in 2011, that calls its instructions digital standard work. CreatorPro AI turns an expert's video walkthrough or legacy documents into structured, visual instructions with photos, video and markup. Changes are routed for approval with version history, dates, authors and the reason for each change; periodic reviews keep old instructions out of use; and workers must acknowledge critical updates, with an audit trail. Instructions are found by QR code, work offline, and can be translated by AI into more than 100 languages, with SSO controlling who sees what. Its security page says SOC 2 Type II compliant and ISO 27001. Pricing is by request form.

Best for: Teams that want document-heavy standard work converted with AI and every change acknowledged by the people it affects.

    Dozuki website

  6. 6. Poka

A connected worker platform, sold by IFS as Connected Worker powered by Poka, that describes its product as digital standard work instructions software for operators, technicians and maintenance teams. Poka AI converts PDFs, Word documents, recorded videos and paper into step-by-step instructions with video, photos and voice notes, in more than 70 languages, with version history for audits. Its skills matrix shows who is trained, endorsed and due for recertification, experts sign off people they watch perform a task, and work routes only to qualified operators. Forms, issues, huddle boards and AI agents are other modules. It says it is compliant with SOC 2 Type 2, with SAML single sign-on, and runs on iOS, Android and the web. Pricing is by request form.

Best for: Large manufacturers that want standard work instructions tied to skills and endorsements across many sites.

    Poka website

  7. 7. Tulip

A no-code frontline operations platform where engineers build their own apps. Its lean manufacturing page describes standard work as versioned digital work instructions that are revised when the standard changes, with approvals, authored in the App Editor next to andon boards, kanban loops and audit checklists. Each app keeps a development version and frozen published versions; with approvals configured, every new version needs an approver, Tulip records which version each operator ran, and a new version reaches a station only after the app in progress finishes. Steps can carry images, video and 3D models and capture data as the work happens. It supports 30 languages. It holds a SOC 2 Type II report and ISO 9001:2015, with single sign-on from the Professional plan. It publishes pricing per interface (device), billed annually with a 10-interface minimum: Essentials $100 and Professional $250 a month per interface.

Best for: Teams with engineers who want to build their own standard work apps that capture data at each step.

Where LeanSuite is different

This part is about our own product, so read it as LeanSuite's pitch; the entries above describe every other tool from its own pages. Each point links to the LeanSuite page that shows it.

  • Work instructions written from a video

Film your best operator and the AI drafts numbered steps with a frame for each, safety and torque callouts and translations. Drafts go to engineering, EHS and quality for e-signature, and operators sign off on a tablet.

    Digital work instructions
  • Controlled documents, signed off per operator

Each work instruction has an owner, a review date with reminders and a version history. Drafts go to engineering, EHS and quality for e-signature, and instructions are assigned to people, a role or a workstation, where operators sign on a tablet.

    Controlled work instructions
  • Maintenance procedures from the same kind of video

Film one technician walkthrough and the AI drafts the standard maintenance procedure with torque values, lockout points, tools, PPE and a frame per step. It is assigned to the machine with a repeat rule, and technicians sign off per person, so you can see who has read the current revision.

    Standard maintenance procedures
