Tiered meetings poster

Tiered meetings are short, daily, standing meetings held in sequence: the team at its board first, then area leaders, then the plant team. Each tier settles what it can and passes up what it cannot, so a problem found at the start of a shift can reach the people who can solve it the same morning, and help comes back down. This poster shows the three tiers, who attends each and what it decides, and the order every tier follows.

The words on the poster

Tiered meetings

Problems go up the tiers the same day. Help comes back down.

  • Team, at its board Start of shift, standing. Results, today's plan, problems the team can fix.
  • Area leaders Team leaders and support. Problems teams cannot fix get an owner.
  • Plant team Problems that need money, another department or a decision.

Every tier, same order

  • Actions: owner and date
  • Short and standing. Each tier finishes before the one above starts.

How to use it

Putting the Tiered meetings poster to work

  1. 1

Put it at each tier board, so everyone knows where a problem goes next.

  2. 2

Use it to set meeting times so each tier ends before the one above starts.

  3. 3

Check in a review: did yesterday's escalations get an owner at the next tier?

  4. 4

Pair it with the free daily huddle agenda and tier 2 meeting agenda.

Which size to print

  • 24 x 36 in or A2: a main wall or team board, read from a few metres away.
  • 18 x 24 in or A3: a station or notice board. The A3 file also fits 11 x 17 in paper.
  • Letter or A4: a clipboard, binder or handout, on any office printer.

Every PDF is vector, so it stays sharp at full size. Nothing runs to the edge of the page, so no bleed is needed.

A poster reminds. A routine makes it stick.
